Nemtsov report on Kremlin's secret war in Ukraine to be published on May 12: RFERL
(Ukraine Today) --- Putin critic planned to provide more evidence of Russian soldiers fighting in Donbas
The findings of an investigation launched by murdered Kremlin critic Boris Nemtsov about Russia's secret war in Ukraine will be published this Tuesday, May 12.
Opposition politician Ilya Yashin told Radio Liberty (RFERL) that a group of journalists and activists had completed their report – one potentially damaging for Putin – and were ready to unveil their findings to the public.
Yashin said Nemtsov had already outlined the report's contents and contacted representatives of several relatives of Russian soldiers killed in Ukraine, prior to his assassination.
As part of this research, Nemtsov wrote a handwritten note, saying that he'd been in touch with paratroopers from the Russian city of Ivanovo, Reuters news agency reported in March.
Meanwhile, Yashin said completing the report was important. He was quoted as saying; "When he was killed and I'd emerged from the initial shock, I realized it was my duty to the memory of my dead comrade to take this work to its end and publish the report that he began".
A handful of Chechens were arrested over Nemtsov's murder, which took place on February 27 near the Kremlin. One of the men charged later claimed being forced to confess, a member of Russia's Human Rights Council reported in March.
The investigation has been futile – despite the large surveillance and security operation around Red Square. Russian state media put forward a wide range of theories about the reasons behind Nemtsov's murder – involving Chechens, love triangles and links to Ukrainian far-right leader and Kremlin bogeyman Dmytro Yarosh.

Putin puts Russia back to Stalin time, renowned Russian actress says
(Zik) --- Thanks to Putin, Stalin time is returning to Russia, the famous Russian and Soviet actress, Natalia Fateyeva says.
“The comeback is deliberately done by the Putin regime. I have lived my life under the Stalin rule, but neither during the WWII nor after it was there such violence and lawlessness in the country. I hate to hear Putin’s rhetoric aimed at fanning the hate among the Russians and sic them on other peoples,” Fateyeva says.
Putin justifies Stalinization by the requests of the veterans.
This is done to keep Russian in slavery and fear. This regime doesn’t need its people or the country. They need us to let them stay in power for good. That is why they resurrect Stalin, ban courts, elections and branches of power
“Putin willingly indulges in the never-ending glorification of Stalin. But Stalin was a silly and a creep. Just read the books by Boris Vasiljev who calls him an imbecile who knew nothing about how to run the army.
The archives are under lock, the officials are playing with the facts to keep the country in the feudal era.
The war with Georgia and the desire to annex Ukraine are parts of the same flagrant policy.
This regime is blatant, callous, and greedy,” opposition radio Ekho Moskvy quotes Natalia Fateyeva as saying.
