Putin burns Russian dead to hide aggression in Ukraine
(Stars and Stripes) --- Russia is so desperate to hide its military involvement in Ukraine that it has brought in mobile crematoriums to destroy the bodies of its war dead, say U.S. lawmakers who traveled to the war-torn country this spring.
The U.S. and NATO have long maintained that thousands of Russian troops are fighting alongside separatists inside eastern Ukraine, and that the Russian government is obscuring not only the presence but also the deaths of its soldiers there. In March, NATO Deputy Secretary General Alexander Vershbow told a conference, "Russian leaders are less and less able to conceal the fact that Russian soldiers are fighting -- and dying -- in large numbers in eastern Ukraine."
Hence the extreme measures to get rid of the evidence. "The Russians are trying to hide their casualties by taking mobile crematoriums with them," House Armed Services Committee Chairman Mac Thornberry, R-Texas, told me. "They are trying to hide not only from the world but from the Russian people their involvement."
Thornberry said he had seen evidence of the crematoriums from both U.S. and Ukrainian sources. He said he could not disclose details of classified information, but insisted that he believed the reports. "What we have heard from the Ukrainians, they are largely supported by U.S. intelligence and others," he said.

Ukrainian drones monitor enemy’s preparations.
(Censor.NET) --- Hundreds of tanks and armoured vehicles, anti-aircraft rocket launchers and howitzers spotted - volunteer Yurii Kasianov.
Ukrainian soldiers employ UAVs to monitor the movement of Russian military equipment and redeployment of illegal armed groups in the Donbas.
This was stated by well-known volunteer Yurii Kasianov on his Facebook page, Censor.NET reports.
"Right now our unmanned scouts are watching the preparations of Russian militarists and their accomplices in the Donbas. Hundreds of tanks and armoured vehicles, anti-aircraft missile launchers, towed and self-propelled howitzers; fortifications, headquarters, warehouses with ammunition and fuel were spotted. Where the OSCE can't get to, our intelligent birds will..." the volunteer wrote.

Russia digging ditches on border to prevent militants' returning - Lysenko
KIEV, May 26 (Ukrinform). --- The border guard service of Russia is building fortifications on the border with Ukraine to prevent militants and mercenaries from coming back to the territory of the Russian Federation in military vehicles.

"The decision on the construction of fortifications was taken in order to prevent the militants from returning to the territory of the Russian Federation. And they will not be able to leave," Lysenko said, commenting on the appropriate actions on the Russian border.
"This [building of fortifications] is meant to signal clearly to those mercenaries who are now in Donbas that if they are already there, they won't be able to leave, at least alive."
As reported earlier, Russian newspaper Rossiyskaya Gazeta, quoting the regional border department of the Federal Security Service (FSB) of the Russian Federation, reported that Russian border guards have dug 100 kilometers of ditches and built a 40 km fence along Russia's border with Donbas.
