Bodies of several 'cyborgs' recovered from the wreckage of Donetsk airport
   (Censor.NET) --- Today, from the rubble of the destroyed Donetsk airport the terrorists recovered dead bodies of Ukrainian servicemen.
   This was stated by Head of the press center of the Ukrainian group of the Joint Coordination Centre for cease-fire monitoring Ruslan Semeniuk, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrainska Pravda.
   "Today, from 10 to 12 a.m. the bodies of Ukrainian 'cyborgs' were recovered from the rubbles of the Donetsk airport. There were two or possibly four bodies of our heroes. Identification is very difficult," he said.
   According to Semeniuk, control is conducted by the OSCE and the International Committee of the Red Cross carried out certain procedures defined for such cases.
   The armed forces of Ukraine were presented by a Joint Center for Coordination and Control of the cease-fire and stabilization of the demarcation line representative, who is constantly located in Donetsk.
   "The bodies of the dead soldiers were brought to the morgue in Donetsk. It can be expected that in the near future they will be transferred to the Ukrainian side," he added.
   According to Semeniuk, during the recovy of the remains from the rubble, the parties as a whole adhered to the silence mode.
"In addition, we can expect that after the mine clearing of debris, the bodies of 1-2 Ukrainian heroes will soon be raised to the surface," he added.

Romania has all resources to invest in Moldova's energy sector - PM Ponta
   KIEV, May 22 (Ukrinform). --- Romania has all necessary financial and energy resources for investment in the energy sector of Moldova.
   Prime Minister of Romania Victor Ponta made a statement in Chisinau, Moldova, after signing the Romanian-Moldavian memorandum on linking their energy systems on May 21, the Ukrinform own Moldova correspondent reported.
   According to the memorandum, Romania and Moldova will complete important projects such as the construction of natural gas pipelines, and connecting power lines in the next years.
   The implementation of energy projects is projected to last three years - from 2015 to 2018, and the total investment will total more than 750 million Euros.
   As a reference, the capacity of the newly built Moldovan-Romanian gas pipeline totals more than 1.5 billion cubic meters of natural gas per one year that is it's much higher than the annual consumption of natural gas in Moldova.

Russia demands release of captive special forces operatives, Putin's press secretary says
   (Censor.NET) --- Spokesperson of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov said that the Russian side is taking all necessary measures to release the captive Russian commandos detained May 17 by the Ukrainian soldiers as a result of the skirmish in the vicinity of Shchastia city in the Luhansk region.
   Peskov said responding to a question regarding the videos that had appeared on the Internet, in which the Russians claimed that they were servicemen of the Russian Federation and had not left military service, Censor.NET reports citing RIA Novosti.
   "I have nothing more to add to what I have previously said. They are actually the Russian citizens, who are in captivity and, certainly, in this case the Russian side is taking the necessary measures for their liberation from captivity," Peskov said.
   As reported earlier, the Russian special forces servicemen admitted in a conversation with the OSCE SMM observers that they had previously visited eastern Ukraine carrying out the tasks of the military command of the Russian Federation.
   Russian Defense Ministry spokesperson Igor Konashenkov said earlier that the agency expects the release of the Russian citizens detained in Ukraine noting that the captive Yerofeyev and Aleksandrov were "former" Russian servicemen.

Ukrainian army spots record number of militant drones in Donbas overnight
 (UNIAN) --- The Ukrainian armed forces have recorded 23 reconnaissance overflights by enemy drones in the Donbas conflict zone in the last day – a record number, National Security and Defense Council spokesman Andriy Lysenko said at a briefing in Kiev on Friday, according to an UNIAN correspondent.
   "On Thursday, the Ukrainian army fixed a record number of reconnaissance overflights by enemy drones. They observed 23 drones," he said.
   "Another two drones were discovered by our border guards on the administrative border with the Russian-occupied Ukrainian territory of Crimea. In addition, Ukrainian border guards recorded another drone illegally crossing Ukraine's border with Russia in Sumy region," Lysenko said.

Three soldiers killed over the past day, 12 wounded - ATO speaker
   (Censor.NET) --- Over the past day, three Ukrainian soldiers were killed in Donbas hostilities, 12 were wounded.
   This was announced by the Presidential Administration speaker on ATO matters, Colonel Andrii Lysenko at a daily briefing, Censor.NET reports
   "Over the past day, three Ukrainian soldiers were killed in combat activities, 12 received wounds," Lysenko noted.
   He also added that the most losses were incurred at the Donetsk direction.

Terrorists conduct dense fire from cannon artillery, 120-mm mortars and tanks - ATO speaker.
   (Censor.NET) --- The situation in the ATO area remains tense. The terrorists keep violating the Minsk cease-fire deal using banned weapons.
   Representative of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine on ATO issues Colonel Andrii Lysenko announced today at a briefing, Censor.NET reports.
   The report reads: "Shyrokyne village remains the only hot spot at the Mariupol direction while the enemy employs a wide range of weapons from small arms to 122-mm guns there.
   "The situation at the Donetsk direction remains complicated. The battle on the western outskirts of Donetsk intensified yesterday in the afternoon. The enemy was committing extremely dense shelling from cannon artillery, 120-mm mortars, and tanks. Besides attacks on the ATO forces' positions, the "DPR " terrorists were shelling the residential neighbourhoods of Avdiivka, Opytne, and Vodiane from 122-mm artillery. There were civilian casualties as a result: 1 person was killed and another 2 were injured by shrapnel.
   "The representatives of the Joint Center for Coordination and Control of cease-fire provided information on those flagrant violations of the armistice on the part of the pro-Russian gangs to the OSCE observers.

"The clashes also continue taking place on the western and eastern outskirts of Horlivka. The enemy has concentrated a significant number of 120-mm mortars and other heavy weapons in this area and actively uses this equipment.

OSCE drones spot Russian-made Strela-10 air missile systems in Donbas
   (UTR.TV) --- OSCE drones have recently been able to identify the presence of the 9K35 Strela-10 short-range surface-to-air missile systems in territory controlled by the Donetsk People’s Republic terrorist organization, near the village of Oktyabr, 25 kilometers from Mariupol.
   Information was provided by OSCE Deputy Chief Monitor Alexander Hug. According to him, the mission continues to record evidence that both sides have failed to completely withdraw heavy weapons out of range of the front line in the Donbas.

Terrorists used tanks and artillery to attack Shchastia and shelled Novolaspa from Grads - ATO press-center
   (Censor.NET) --- The situation in the ATO area has not changed significantly yesterday and still remains tense.
   Censor.NET informs citing the ATO press-center situation report.
   "Invaders used artillery and mortars of prohibited calibers along the demarcation line, shelling villages and positions of our troops to cause as much damage and losses as possible, as well as to show the entire world a complete disrespect to any agreements," the report reads.
   According to the headquarters, the invaders shelled Vodiane, Butovka mine, Avdiivka, Opytne, Marinka, Pisky, Sieverne, Slavne, and Hranitne from 120-mm mortars and 122-mm artillery. MLRS Grads were used at night to assault Novolaspa.
   "The same types of weapons were used by the armed criminals to shell Novhorodske, Shyroka Balka, Leninske, Kirove, Zolote, and Troitske villages at the Artemivsk direction. The bandits' self-propelled artillery attacked Shyroka Balka and Kirove," the statement reads.
   The press center also noted that the long-suffering village of Shyrokyne was assaulted from mortars, grenade launchers, and small arms.
   "The invaders aspired to destroy Shchastia more than ever. It was shelled by the enemy artillery as well as two tanks at night. The scoundrels were shelling the city for more than two hours. The aggressors have not neglected to shell peaceful cities and villages of Opytne, Vodiane, and Avdiivka. The 122-mm artillery located near the Zalizna Balka River was used to impact Horlivka. Avdiivka Coke and Chemical Plant was repeatedly shelled from mortars," the headquarters reported adding that the enemy drones were spotted nine times.

Amnesty Says Torture Of Ukraine War Prisoners Widespread
   (RFE/RL) --- Amnesty International says both warring sides in eastern Ukraine are almost daily perpetrating war crimes, including torture and summary killings of prisoners.
   In a new report released on May 22, the rights group said it has heard accounts from former captives of government and separatist forces of savage beatings, torture with electric shocks, kicking and stabbings.
   Amnesty says it interviewed 17 captives of the separatists and 16 others held by Ukrainian government forces for its report.
   Concern about the treatment of prisoners comes as Ukrainian authorities face scrutiny this week for publicly displaying two men they say were Russian soldiers captured while fighting alongside separatists.
   Amnesty is urging UN agencies and experts to visit detention sites in Ukraine to meet those being held by both sides.

One Worker Killed In Shelling Of Industrial Site In Ukraine
   (RFE/RL) --- One worker has been killed and two wounded in eastern Ukraine in heavy shelling of a plant belonging to the country's largest steel company.
   In a statement on May 22, Metinvest said equipment and transport infrastructure were damaged in the shelling on May 21 of its Avdiyivka coke plant in the Donetsk region. 
   Metinvest said the plant was now unable to ship out finished products or receive supplies of raw materials. 
   "It was the heaviest shelling since the declaration of the cease-fire," Metinvest said.
   The cease-fire between Ukrainian forces and Russian-backed rebels was declared in mid-February and has led to a drop in violence although violations are reported regularly.  
   On May 21, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) -- which is monitoring the cease-fire -- warned of a "worrisome" spread of violence in eastern Ukraine.

Terrorists shell Avdiivka with 120-mm mortars. 30 shells exploded at coke chemical plant. Two women wounded - Interior Minstry.
   (Censor.NET) --- The militants fired at Avdiivka using 120 mm mortars.
   This was announced on by Head of the Donetsk region police Viacheslav Abroskin on his Facebook page, Censor.NET reports.
   According to him, there are direct hits in the territory of Avdiivka coke-chemical plant and the train depot.
   "Previously I received information about a wounded woman. The bombardment continue. Investigative team of Avdiivka city police department was dispatched to the scene," Abroskin said.
   Later, Deputy Head of the Donetsk region police Iliya Kiva stated on his Facebook, that Avdiivka coke-chemical plant was subjected to massive bombardment.
   "The terrorists bombed Avdiivka coke-chemical plant, two women were injured, some 30 shells exploded in the factory," he said.
