Rebels sell weapons to buy food and booze
(Zik) --- As Russia has tightened the screw on Donbas rebels, cutting their funding, rebels are selling weapons confiscated from civilians to buy food and booze, military expert Dmytro Snehiryov told ZIK Aug. 4.
The funding is so meager in Perevalsk that local rebels openly sell grenades, pistols and guns, the expert says.
Grenades go for UAH200 ($8) a piece, pistols for UAH1450 ($70). Anyone can pass through the checkpoint without any documents - for 2 bottles of vodka or food.
The rebels have actually stolen any property they can lay their hands on.
The funding by Russia has almost stopped. So, the rebels have to find alternative sources of supply – selling arms, Snehiryov says.

Terrorists deliberately trying to prevent demilitarization of Shyrokyne, - Presidential Administration
(Censor.NET) --- The Administration of the President of Ukraine expects demilitarization of Shyrokyne to be accomplished in the near future.
This was stated by Presidential Administration Deputy Head Andrii Taranov at a press briefing on Wednesday, answering the question about the prospects of Shyrokyne demilitarization, Censor.NET informs citing Interfax-Ukraine.
"As for Shyrokyne, we've all heard that the decision on withdrawal of equipment of caliber less than 100-mm as well as mortars is to be made in the near future. Should everything depend on a single party, the decision would have already been taken. But we need to proceed from the fact that unfortunately, the side that does not want to do it, is taking every effort to invite our troops' retaliation," he said.
He added that the negotiations were underway and it was difficult to talk about specific dates. "That means that the decision will be made, but I do not want to tell when happens. That means the negotiations are underway," the deputy head of the presidential administration said.

Terrorists deliberately destroy Avdiivka infrastructure, - Donetsk Police Head Abroskin.
(Censor.NET) --- 31 civilians have been killed in terrorist attacks on Avdiivka during 2015.
This was announced by the Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Main Directorate in the Donetsk region Viacheslav Abroskin on his Facebook page, Censor.NET reports.
"The distance between Avdiivka and Kramatorsk is about 80 km, and the life in these cities differs as black and white. Yesterday, after presentation of the new head in Kramatorsk I visited Avdiivka. There was an eerie silence, as the night before militants had shelled the city. Terrorists deliberately destroy infrastructure, ruin Avdiivka Coke Plant. The worst of all is their deliberate artillery attacks on civilian homes," Abroskin said.
As pointed out by the Donetsk police head, people stay in the city because they have nowhere to go.
"The plant is a place where they earn their living to survive. According to a female resident, she is afraid not to die, but to become crippled. These crimes, the shelling of civilians have no time limitations," he added.
According to him, during the period from Jan. 1 to Aug. 4, 2015 Avdiivka has been under constant shelling by illegal armed units of the so-called "DPR." For the current period, as a result of shelling, 31 civilians have been killed, including 11 women, 20 men. 87 people have been wounded, including 23 women, 61 men, and three children (born 2002, 2006 and 2014).
"That's the story of the strong modern city of Avdiivka," he stated sadly.
