This opinion was
expressed by former Romanian President Traian Basescu, the Uukrinform own Moldova 's
correspondent reports.
In his opinion, it
is the right time for Moldova
and Romania
to hold a referendum on the matter.
Earlier, Basescu
has repeatedly declared that next strategic goal of Romania
after joining the EU and NATO should be the unification with the Republic of Moldova
Prime Minister of
Moldova Valeriu Strelet has rejected the possibility of merging the two
countries, as this process is too expensive, and Romanians "will not
sacrifice their well-being for the sake of unification."
