President vows to defend Mariupol
   (Zik) --- After inspecting a naval military exercise in the Mykolayiv oblast, Pres Poroshenko vowed to defend the coast and the strategic Mariupol area, presidential website July 21 report says. He said he was impressed with the level of training of marines.
   Poroshenko declared his firm commitment to the Minsk agreements. He said, however, that if the enemy violates the agreements and attacks, Ukraine will have the power to defend itself.  
   Poroshenko said he will deploy 3 Marines battalions and one artillery division to beef up the defense of Mariupol. In addition, Ukraine army will have 36 US-made armoured Humvees vehicles. 
   Earlier, it was reported that 100 Humvees had been shipped to Odessa last week. Ukraine army plans to install anti-tank weapons on Humvees.

Russia Slams NATO Drills In Western Ukraine
   (RFE/RL) --- Russia says ongoing military exercises involving NATO countries in western Ukraine are "of provocative nature."
   The Russian envoy to NATO, Aleksandr Grushko, said on July 21 that the maneuvers "disrupt" the process of implementing the Minsk agreement signed in February and aimed at putting an end to fighting between government forces and Russian-backed separatist rebels in eastern Ukraine.
   Ukraine's Defense Ministry says some 2,000 troops are involved in the exercises, dubbed Rapid Trident 2015, which was launched at the Yavoriv military training field in the Lviv region on July 20.
   Almost 800 Ukrainian soldiers, more than 500 U.S. troops, and 700 other servicemen from 16 other countries are taking part in the drills that are expected to last until August 1.
   The maneuvers also involve armoured personnel carriers, helicopters, and other military hardware.

Russian command post vehicle R-142N discovered in terrorists' training camp on outskirts of Donetsk.
(Censor.NET) --- The command post vehicleR-142N was discovered in the training camp of the Russian-terrorists' Sparta battalion.
The equipment was discovered by the team of investigative journalists from InformNapalm, Censor.NET reports. 

The combined radio station R-142N is designed to ensure troop control and communication organization on the battalion-regiment-division level. It can operate on move at the speed of up to 40 kilometers per hour (/25 mph) and at a camp site an can be used both independently and as a part of a communications hub. The equipment of command post vehicle R-142N provides simplex radio-telephony communication both in open and secure mode. 

While on a median terrain and having selected the appropriate frequency (free from the radio interference and in compliance with the used antennas), the radio station ensures the data transmitting and receiving on various distances - the bigger (higher) is the antenna the larger is the covered area.

The mentioned training camp is located in the territory of an abandoned military unit in the outskirts of Donetsk (Ukraine).

One Ukrainian soldier killed, one wounded in Donbas in last day
(UNIAN) --- One Ukrainian soldier was killed and another one was wounded in the Donbas conflict zone in the last 24 hours, presidential administration spokesman for the Anti-Terrorist Operation Colonel Andriy Lysenko said at a briefing in Kiev on Tuesday, according to an UNIAN correspondent.
"In the last day, we lost one Ukrainian soldier, and another one was injured as a result of military clashes," Lysenko said.
As UNIAN reported earlier, the combined Russian-separatist forces attacked Ukrainian army positions and civilian areas in eastern Ukraine more than 60 times in the last day, including 30 attacks from 18:00 to 24:00 Kiev time.

OSCE gives no evidence of Russian militants weaponry withdrawal, - Hug
   (Censor.NET) --- Deputy Chief of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission in Ukraine Alexander Hug called the militants' statement on weaponry withdrawal unilateral.
   It is reported by Censor.NET citing Deutche Welle. "We are currently observing an intensive movement of weaponry. This proves no withdrawal," he said in an interview to DPA information agency. After militants announced the beginning of withdrawal of heavy equipment, international observers noted "more intensive" movement of weapons in the Donbas.
   According to Hug, "so far, we have heard only a unilateral declaration" of militants, which the OSCE can't confirm. Its representative notes there is still no agreement on what weapons, where and by what date should be moved.

Terrorists shelled ATO forces' positions 60 times over last day. Avdiivka and its coke plant sprayed from tank and artillery, - HQ
   (Censor.NET) --- Russian-terrorist forces fired at the Ukrainian military positions more than 60 times over the past 24 hours, July 20.
   As reported by Censor.NET, this is announced by the ATO press center on its Facebook page.
   According to the report, more than 30 attacks occurred from 6 p.m. to midnight. Overall, during the last 24 hours, terrorists used 152-mm and 122-mm artillery 11 times, 120-mm mortars - 19 times, tanks - three times.
   As the statement reads, from 6:40 p.m. terrorists again fired from a tank at the Avdiivka coke plant. At 10:10 p.m. they shelled the Avdiivka residential area from 152-mm and 122-mm artillery systems.
   "Using weapons prohibited by the Minsk agreements, the militants actively shelled the ATO forces positions near Novhorodske, Opytne, Krasnohorivka, Nevelske, Avdiivka, Pisky. Harassing fire was also recorded near Shyrokyne, Maiorsk, Marinka, Bolotiane etc.," the report reads.
   "As of 6 a.m. today, July 21, our positions near Rozsadky, Maiorsk, Zaitseve, Lozove were shelled from 152-mm artillery at 4:30 a.m., near Bohdanivka - from a tank. Near Donetsk airport, Novomarivka, Troitske, Stanytsia Luhanska, Marinka terrorists used small arms. Ukrainian defenders rebuffed the enemy using non-prohibited weapons," the press center added.
